I believe that the diverse knowledge, skills and behaviours of an effective Coach will ensure that they are able to build rapport; ask great questions; listen carefully; give feedback and
demonstrate a genuine interest in others.
The foundation for effective Coaching is based on a trusting relationship which is created through being an authentic, warm, co-operator, and holder of space for an individual to (re-)connect with themselves.
When a Coach honours a person’s lived experience, and empathises by imagining what it must have been like rather than
sympathising (Brown, 2021), an interactive rapport is created.
